On Saturday, October 10, 2009 many MKD members were up bright and early to help clean up Magic Island. For an hour (8:30 – 9:30 am) MKD students and parents went around Magic Island and picked up trash that ranged from pieces of glass, soda cans, bottle caps and other miscellaneous trash.

Everyone worked very hard and represented MKD to the best of their abilities.

After the clean-up, we had a picnic where there was plenty of ono food for everyone. Members who don’t normally get a chance to interact in dojo got meet and enjoy the beach with one another.

Mahalo to Mark Freytag who was kind enough to allow members to try their hands at paddle-boarding. And Mahalo to Alex Bergo and Viil Lid, who brought their volleyball net for members to use.

A special thanks to Kiyo Matsuoka and Senpai Naomi Wong, who had coordinated the event and to Nicole Cardinale, who organized all the games and provided all the prizes.
